Well, well, well. I have been nominated for the Sunshine Blogger Award, and so that means I’ll be posting something way ahead of when I thought I would!
1. Thank the blogger who nominated you and provide a link back to their blog.
Thank you Ainsley 😀 https://ainsleybeth.home.blog/.
2. List the rules and display the award logo on your blog.
3. Answer the 11 questions the blogger gave you.
4. Nominate 11 other bloggers and notify them by commenting on any of their posts.
5. Ask the nominees 11 new questions.
Ainsley’s questions to me:
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?
Bulgaria. It is a small country by the Black Sea, the homeland from whence my mother’s side is from. Its a beautiful place, filled with mountains, seasides, forests, roses, and relatives I haven’t seen (or in some cases never met!) in years.
What’s one food you can’t live without?
I have recently found I cannot live without bruschetta, a delicious concoction of diced tomatoes, olive oil, basil, and garlic. LOTS of garlic.
Summer or Winter?
Oh, summer. Definitely summer. Walks with my puppy, mommy, and siblings, reading outdoors, shorts, complaining it’s too hot instead of it’s too cold, watching the leaves rustle in the breeze, observing squirrels leaping from branch to branch thirty feet in the air and not falling to their deaths, soaking in the sun and feeling chic while doing it, pool time, bike rides, iced tea, and best of all: baseball. Chicago Cubs baseball. (In fact as I’m writing this I am wearing a shirt titled: “This Girl Loves Kris Bryant.” Thank you to the dear friend who knows me too well that got it for me!)
What’s one thing that always makes you laugh?
Winnie-Ther-Pooh and The House At Pooh Corner, both by A.A. Milne. The dialogue and narration in these books are so serious yet so comical I could read them over and over again with a ridiculous smile on my face as Owl tries to think of something Wise and Thoughtful to say, or Eeyore is telling Roo “It’s going to rain, see if it doesn’t”, and Roo looks to see if it doesn’t. The books are so wonderfully refreshing, merry, and very well written, I 100% recommend you read them.
What’s your biggest pet peeve?
When my little sister (who I share a room with) does not clean up her things from the ground. “S’cuse me sis, I love you, but I would prefer to see the carpet covering the floor instead of your clothes, if its all the same to you.”
What’s your favorite tv series?
Sherlock, with Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman. Best. Show. Ever. The modern twist to the literary gold cases Sir Arthur Conan Doyle created combined with the gobsmacking, impeccable performances of the cast and the wittiest script writing I have ever heard makes this show so thoroughly intriguing and enjoyable in every sense of those words. Check it out if you haven’t seen it. I can’t sing enough of it’s praises.
What’s your favorite animal?
When I was younger I would’ve given you a typical little girl’s reply: “horses and dolphins”, though I was a little bit more exact. The breed of horse I adored (and still do, actually) was the Arabian, and the breed of dolphin was Bottlenose. But now that I’m more rational and realize I most likely will never have an affectionate pet dolphin or own a stable of fiery Arabians, my answer is dog. Man’s best friend. Specifically German Shepard, Pomeranian, or my very own sweet, silly Leonsberger mix of a Moose.
If you could meet one famous person, who would it be?
I hate this question.
Ice cream or cake?
Ice cream. Though it has been a while since I’ve had any…would you excuse me a second, I need to rummage the freezer…
Have you ever broken a bone?
Not that I am aware of. But I had nursemaid’s elbow when I was younger several times due to weak joints . Fun memories…such fun memories… (If you can’t tell that’s complete sarcasm, because nursemaid’s elbow is excruciatingly painful and you’d be crazy if you think experiencing it is fun).
Have you ever been out of the country?
Yes, to Bulgaria when I was eighteen months old. I remember nothing, of course, but my father made a video diary of the trip, and narrated in detail, so I’ve seen how beautiful that country is and know some of my relatives by name : )
Whew that’s done! Okay so now I need to nominate 11 other bloggers? I only know around 2 or 3; one of them gave me this challenge and nominated another, so that leaves me with about 1 or 2…sooooo, if you are a blogger and would like to help me out, would you kindly follow the rules mentioned above and comment below that you are doing so? If so thank you, you are a saint, if not…well, thanks for reading anyways. 🙂
11 questions for the saints of bloggers who took up my request to do the challenge:
1: What is your favorite piece of literature?
2: Can you keep a houseplant alive for more than a week?
3: Which is the better brother, Faramir or Boromir ? Fili or Kili? Peter or Edmund? Choose either one pair or answer them all (and for those who have no idea who I’m talking about, stop what you are doing and go add to your bookshelf The Hobbit, The Lord of The Rings, and The Chronicles of Narnia asap).
4: Pop, Country, or Classical?
5: True or False: Musicals are the greatest thing since sliced bread.
6:Dog person, cat person, both person, or none of the above?
